Craig & I have lived and worked Annstead Farm since 1995. Since then we have had two children, Tom & Beth, who now also help with running the family business.
Craig, Tom and Fiona run the farm side of things. The farm is approximately 600 acres in size. Virtually half grass and half arable land. We have a commercial herd of breeding and beef cattle; between 650-700 breeding ewes; a small, very hungry herd of Belted Galloway Cattle, and at the time of writing this, one hen! Alongside the livestock enterprise, we grow wheat, barley and oilseed rape.
We inherited 3 cottages from the previous owners and from the outset decided to rent these out as holiday accommodation as we realised how fortunate we were to live in this beautiful area and so close to the beach! Luckily we weren’t the only ones who thought this and to keep accommodating all our very loyal and new visitors we have expanded this to 9 over the years, by converting old redundant cottages and farm buildings.
We have our two campsites, one quieter model for adults only – The Walled Garden, and the other accommodating families too – The Farm Site. They are both members only sites so as long as you have a current paid up membership to some sort of camping, caravanning or motorhoming organisation you can stay with us.
Finally, our daughter Beth now runs her own venture, The Lazy Cow, selling delicious coffee, home baked cakes and a variety of other treats, from her converted horsebox here on The Farm with plenty of off road parking. You can find her on Instagram and Facebook by searching for The Lazy Cow Beadnell…and this will keep you up to date with any alterations to her opening hours.
Hopefully you will come and visit us and we look forward to welcoming you.
